LE FLOUR DU CHANCE
The
story of the most gracious guests in “Le Flour du Chance – Bed and Breakfast”
Meet Lucy, Anne, Georgianna, Lucca,
Mark and James, and join them in this twisted story full of summer romance, fun
and emotions.
Chapter 1:
It’s
early in the morning, and James wakes his brother up to start the journey. He
opens the windows, having no pity for his brother, still deeply asleep.
- Rise and shine! Haha, come on brother, mom says
breakfast’s ready –
- Bloody hell, James, what the heck are you doing!
Close that blasted window you dumb ass! –
- Hey, hey, relax Mark, this is the best day of our
lives! Finally we’re getting our asses out of London, Berlin is waiting for us,
and the pretty blond princesses, this will be awesome!-
- Yes. Yes, you’re right. I just wish I didn’t have
this horrible hangover… Oh, for Christ’s sake!- (he throws up on this bed side)
- Ugh, dude, that’s grows. You shouldn’t have drunk
that much booze, my friend, and all because of a girl. Seriously, brother, I
just don’t get it. Being our age, you could have like five girls each weekend,
and you’re here suffering because of Jenny instead. It’s just nonsense.-
- Oh shut up, will you? Anyway, I need you luggage
down in the car in ten minutes, or I’m leaving without you. Yeah, run now,
Casanova.-
- Jeess, Mark, why are you such a kill-joy all the
time! Just hang loose for five minutes, will you? I seriously worry about you.
How are you supposed to win girls like that? You’ll end up sad, virgin, and
alone haha, I would think about it if I were you.-
- Am I suppose to answer that? Haha, come on, James,
let’s start this the good way, please. –
After
a while, they get on the road. Jailhouse Rock playing really loud. And so, in
between laughs and beers, they disappear from London,
heading to Berlin,
the city of modernity, the city of fun.
Meanwhile,
in the other side of the world, in San Fernando Valley,
USA, Anne and Lucy, to
recently-graduated students from Stanford
University, start their
day, absolutely clueless about destiny’s plans for them.
- Annie! Have you seen my flowered dress? I can’t find
it.-
- Oh, yeah… Luce… Remember last night’s party I told
you about?
- Oh, no-
- Hum… well…
- Oh, please, no, you didn’t... –
- I’m so sorry Lucy I… I had no idea you’d need it for
today! I washed it and everything, but I’m not sure it’s completely dry…-
- Oh my god Anne! That’s my newest dress and I wanted
to use it today for lunch! Ricky is coming, and I wanted to look good for our
last time together!
Damn, what am I going to do now?-
- Oh, come on, Luce, you know that thing about you and
Rick is not that serious, don’t you?-
-What do you mean is not serious? We’ve been dating
two months now!-
Anne,
speaking for herself, whispers: - Well, yesterday at the party it didn’t show-
Unfortunately, Lucy hears her, and asks, completely shocked:
- What did you just say?-
Anne realizes Lucy heard her, and doesn’t answer.
- Anne, what did you just say? –
- Nothing Luce, just drop it… -
- Anne, you’ve got to tell me. Please, tell me I heard
wrong.-
- Oh, crap, me and my big mouth… Hmmm… Oh, well, it’s
for your own good.-
- Please, Annie, don’t scare me out, just say it
already…-
- Alright, but first you need to sit down and breathe.
Oh, god, here we go. Remember that girl from our graduation party, Sean
Martin’s date?-
- The green dress whore? Yeah, I do. Quite a bitch,
huh? –
- It’s about to get worse, my friend. Yesterday, at
the party, I saw her… Oh, my god, you make this so hard…-
- Anne, just say it, please, you’re killing me here! –
- Ok, she was making out, with Ricky in the middle of
the dance floor. Duh, it sounds awful when I say it.-
- WHAT? Oh, no. Annie, Anne, please tell me you didn’t
say what you just said. Just… just, please, tell me I heard wrong.
Anne,
afraid that her friend would freak out and break something, closed her eyes, as
a sign of negation.
- OH MY GOD! That asshole! How could he do this to me?
How could he? But, Annie, are you completely sure it was him? I, I simply can’t
believe it! You know what? He won’t have it his own way now… oh, no, he’ll be
really sorry for this, sure he will. –
Anne,
a bit surprised about her friend’s reaction, couldn’t help it, and smiled
widely.
- You know what?- said that new euphoric Lucy she’s
never seen – we should go on a trip right now. What do you say? –
- What? A trip? What, like, abroad? You and me? –
asked Anne, really shocked about the proposal. – I don’t know Luce, I have a
lot going on here, what… what am I supposed to tell my boss?
- Oh, screw your boss, Annie! You can’t bear him,
you’ve been wanting to quit that job of yours like for years. Besides, how many
times have I proposed something as good and as fun as this and how many times
will we have the chance and money to do it?-
After
thinking for a good while, leaving her friend in complete curiosity, Anne
finally said:
- Alright, as you won’t take no for an answer… Hum…
I’ll talk to my boss and I’ll see what I can do. Ok? –
- Thank you! Annie, you’re my best friend; you know
that, right? This will be great!
Indeed,
it would be great. But in some ways they never imagined. They had no clue about
what fate would put them in.
